How to get through the final stretch ☕️💭

The end of the year is always exhausting. Whether it's work, family, health, or even the seasons—every day feels tough. The entire world is rushing to finish things and it feels like no one has the time to take a breather.
I took a day off work to rest and yet my mind kept running through the work I had to get done. We're running all the time and it's easy to lose track of whether we are going where we want.
It seems counterintuitive to preach slowing down when there are so many things to do, but it's the only action that works. Every time I did something that felt "useless", I felt better and things worked out.
Here's the thing: we have way too many tasks on our lists and deadlines to reach. Humans used to have a few major worries to concentrate on but now we have dozens of worries in all sizes. There's no way we can get everything done. It can be better to take shortcuts or deprioritize some items so that we can give our best to at least a few things.
Something new got added to my plate in October that caused many things to be taken out. My reading drastically reduced, I forgot about blogging for weeks, and I haven't kept up with friends as much. I procrastinated on pretty much everything and felt inadequate.
It helped me to take days off to rest, let go of responsibilities, and figure out ways to do better without stretching myself thin. I wrote blog posts right before publishing them, reduced my workout routine so that I was less tired, and utilized Shortform to read whenever I had time.
catch up on...
Business Casual by B. K. Borison was everything I expected and more. It was such a fitting end to the series. I'm going to miss the town and the characters. Check out my full review here.
Not all my reads are good and Till There Was You by Lindsay Hameroff proved that, sometimes, a great synopsis does not lead to a great story. I was so annoyed with it that I vented all my frustrations in my review.
I felt like writing a personal post while talking about my favourite things and came up with a random idea. Here's my life in beverages!
It's easy to run ourselves ragged by trying to do everything so this newsletter is mainly a reminder to pause and figure out better ways. I hope you have a great November! I'll see you again soon.
